Tattoo Aftercare

  1. You do not have to do anything while this bandage is on. It is normal to have blood and / or ink accumulate underneath the bandage.

When showering keep it out of the direct stream. Do not submerge or soak the tattoo during the entire healing process

    (no baths or swimming).

  2. Remove the clear adhesive bandage after 2 - 5 days. Begin your aftercare as soon as the bandage is removed.
You may have some acne after you remove the bandage.

  3. With clean hands, wash your tattoo twice a day (once in the morning, and once at night) using unscented Anti-Bacterial Soap.

If the tattoo gets dirty or sweaty for any reason clean and moisturize as soon as possible after.

Do not use fragranced products on your tattoo while it’s healing.

  4. Once you have washed your tattoo, dry it with a fresh, clean paper towel. Do NOT use a reusable hand/bath towel, since these can harbor bacteria.

  5. Use a light coat of Aquaphor or A+D Ointment (do not over saturate it, use products sparingly) on your tattoo during the first 3 days. Switch to an unscented lotion for 2 weeks after.

If you are using Aquatat, you may use this product for the entire healing process of your tattoo!

Do NOT use ANY other products during the healing process. They can cause complications in healing.

  6. Avoid picking, rubbing, scratching, or “helping along” the scabbing that may occur while healing. This may damage the tattoo, resulting in scarring, pigmentation loss and in some cases may cause infection. If your tattoo is itchy do not scratch it!

Peeling similar to a sunburn is normal during healing

  7. Your tattoo should heal fully within 3-4 weeks!
